Change your password if you haven't recently

Hey guys! I'm not sure if this has happened to any of you recently, but not too long ago someone has tried to hack into my account. Luckily I have blocked their isp and changed my password, but please do so if you haven't already. I found out the person is from Australia and I don't know why someone would dare to do this they even tried to log into my email which is how I found out.

Just trying to prevent anything else from happening so hope nothing happens to you guys!

Other security tips are in https://support.bladeandsoul.com/hc/en-us/articles/206336905-Security-FAQ

Also, if you have gmail, you can setup 2-factor authentification.
It works even when you're offline (since it is sent to you by SMS or other means, depending on your device).

I don't know how it works for Outlook or other services.
apparently people can get around this and simply hack into it too because they even hacked into my email of all things. If you have multiple emails then you can block the access though, but if you are asleep it can be too late

Yeah, seems like that it isn't a perfect solution, as of now.

Still, it can help to make it harder to get to your account.

only way to log in my account is having my e-mail+password, ncsoft password and cellphone (google auth). Its annoying sometimes but secure.

I'm referring to the game and I posted to the forums since I dunno if it's because I use bnsbuddy when I open up my game especially since they found out what my email was and tried to log into it. I still don't know how they figured out my password too since I don't share it with anyone nor do I give hints of it when I'm doing things.

I use all of that too, but to log into my email you'd have to come from a certain area that I've set up with multiple emails and logging into one notifies me where the login came from which allows me to block it.

Yet another thing to add to the list of impossible things that BnSBuddy is "accused" of doing.

No, it isn't because of BnSBuddy.
If it was, you would know.

Maybe you did what plenty of people do and went to those phishing emails to get frozen stingers. :bnsgiggle:
No I am simply not accusing bnsbuddy to do anything.

Also that would be impossible for me to do any of that because:
1) I am way too geared to even do that
2) Have been playing this game since the beginning and would never do such a thing
3) I log in mainly to raid, farm with friends/clan or pvp

Please don't even think I would even do something stupid as that. The only reason why I said "It's probably because I use bnsbuddy" is because in the past there was someone taking emails to hack into accounts. BnSBuddy is simply a program to use, so why would I ever accuse it for something? All this message is saying that people should change their passwords because apparently something like this can happen while you don't even do anything (don't misinterpret this please).

I'm sorry, but it sounds you're just swapping words and keeping the same meaning.
You aren't saying it was BnSBuddy, but someone was getting emails and you only use BnSBuddy.

BnSBuddy's old server was actually hijacked (Godaddy handed the access to the attackers, basically) and they re-built BnSBuddy from the source code to include adicional code to download other pieces of software.
Currently, BnSBuddy is registered in a Cloudflare server.

Besides, you can check the source code on https://github.com/RedDot-3ND7355/BnS-Buddy and compile it yourself.
It isn't too hard to read, and the instructions to understand what's going on are on .

But honestly, if you want to be 100% sure you are safe, just follow these steps:
  • Install a password manager like keepass 2 (DO NOT USE KEEPASS 1!!!!!)
  • Have the encrypted file on some cloud storage (Google Drive, Onedrive, Mega.nz)
  • Keep a copy somewhere else (like a pendrive)
  • Use keepass to generate high-entropy, pseudo-random passwords
Don't forget to follow the stupid guidelines imposed by NCSoft for Blade&Soul
  • And keep making random passwords for everything, storing them in this tiny little file
There's also lastpass, which is a freemium service.

Hey man please stop responding to this post. You seem like a guy who likes to cause arguments rather than understanding the whole post itself. This whole post was made to tell others to change their passwords to their things if they haven't recently as well as wondering if it has happened to others. Thus why I never did mention "bnsbuddy" in the first post.

I don't care if it was or wasn't bnsbuddys since I am satisfied with it and I wouldn't believe that it was the problem to begin with. In which is why I respoded to GunerX with

That exact response was since I was still in thought of wondering how did the person even figure out my email and password and I responded to them with this because they are the administrator here. Hence is why I never accused bnsbuddy of anything and was wondering how something like this even happened.

If you are still trying to make an argument of this just don't even respond to this because this post is not for an argument.

Well, I'm wondering as well ...

You see the yellow block of text when you login?
Well, I complained to bns support and they added it.

My email has been target of those phishing emails for a long time, long before I used BnSBuddy.

You seem like a guy who likes to cause arguments rather than understanding the whole post itself

And no, I am not.
