Question about Unattended mode

I have the box unchecked, but i have tried it out once before. It didn't feel any different from my normal bns buddy logins. Both with and without unattended mode on, I just press the play button and everything else is done for me except until I get to the part where I enter my pin. What does Unattended mode actually do or how far should it get me? Is it not noticeable because my pin is stopping it from working?

Basically: it prevents those dialogs you would see if you were using mods without Unattended mode.
